1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, NATO warplanes and missiles struck Yugoslavia,
3 pummeling army barracks, power plants, and air defense
4 batteries in an effort to force the country's defiant leader
5 to cease his onslaught against Kosovo's Albanians; and
6 WHEREAS, The military forces of the United States in
7 conjunction with their coalition allies have joined forces to
8 make these strikes against the Serbians; and
9 WHEREAS, We are proud of all of our veterans for the
10 sacrifices they have made in order that our nation could
11 remain a leader in the free world; and
12 WHEREAS, To these brave service men and women, who were
13 committed to fighting and perhaps dying for us, we owe the
14 preservation of our freedoms; therefore, be it
15 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
16 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we give special
17 thanks and pay honor and respect to all those valiant men and
18 women who have served our nation and the NATO forces who
19 fought in Kosovo; and be it further
20 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21 forwarded to the Secretary of Defense of the United States of
22 America.
