1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Insurance Code by adding
2 Section 143.29a.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by
6 adding Section 143.29a as follows:
7 (215 ILCS 5/143.29a new)
8 Sec. 143.29a. Insureds age 65 and over; renewal and
9 premium rates. With respect to a policy that insures an
10 individual under a personal lines automobile insurance policy
11 against any loss or liability resulting from or incident to
12 the ownership, maintenance, or operation of any motor
13 vehicle, an insurance company authorized to do business in
14 Illinois may not refuse to renew the policy, may not increase
15 the premium rates for the policy, and may not fail to offer
16 premium reduction incentives for the policy based, in whole
17 or in part, upon the fact that the insured has attained 65
18 years of age.
19 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
20 becoming law.
