1 AN ACT to amend the School Code by adding Section
2 18-8.4a.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
6 18-8.4a as follows:
7 (105 ILCS 5/18-8.4a new)
8 Sec. 18-8.4. Supplementary State aid payment; average
9 daily attendance. For the 2000-2001 school year or any
10 school year thereafter, if the average daily attendance in
11 either grades kindergarten through 8 or grades 9 through 12
12 of a school district as computed for the first calendar month
13 of the current school year exceeds by more than 5%, but not
14 less than 25 pupils, the district's average daily attendance
15 for the first calendar month of the immediately preceding
16 school year in, respectively, grades kindergarten through 8
17 or grades 9 through 12, a supplementary State aid payment
18 shall be made to the district equal to the difference in the
19 amount of aid the district would be paid under Section
20 18-8.05 of this Code using the average daily attendance in
21 the district as computed for the first calendar month of the
22 current school year and the amount of aid the district would
23 be paid using the average daily attendance in the district
24 for the first calendar month of the immediately preceding
25 school year. This supplementary State aid payment shall be
26 paid to the district in the same manner as provided in
27 Section 18-8.4 of this Code and shall be treated as separate
28 from all other payments made pursuant to Section 18-8.05 of
29 this Code.
30 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
