1 AN ACT to amend the Department of Public Health Powers
2 and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois
3 by adding Section 2310-338.
4 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
5 represented in the General Assembly:
6 Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and
7 Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
8 amended by adding Section 2310-338 as follows:
9 (20 ILCS 2310/2310-338 new)
10 Sec. 2310-338. Asthma; pharmaceutical compliance. The
11 Department shall study the effect of disease management
12 education combined with pharmaceutical compliance on health
13 complications of asthma. In conducting the study, the
14 Department shall consult with the following:
15 (1) Pharmaceutical companies that provide
16 respiratory medications.
17 (2) Asthma management and asthma education programs.
18 (3) Pharmaceutical compliance programs.
19 The Department shall report its findings and
20 recommendations to the General Assembly by July 1, 2001.
21 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect
22 January 1, 2001.
