91_SB1329enr SB1329 Enrolled LRB9109590NTksB 1 AN ACT concerning higher education. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by 5 adding Section 20 as follows: 6 (110 ILCS 305/20 new) 7 Sec. 20. Medical school research experiments; informed 8 consent. If a person is to participate as a subject in a 9 research experiment conducted at the College of Medicine but 10 does not understand the English language, then the informed 11 consent document for the research experiment must be written 12 in a language that the person does understand. If the person 13 cannot read or has difficulty reading, the document must be 14 read to the person in that same language. 15 Section 10. The Southern Illinois University Management 16 Act is amended by adding Section 10 as follows: 17 (110 ILCS 520/10 new) 18 Sec. 10. Medical school research experiments; informed 19 consent.
