 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 623

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 623, by  replacing
 3    everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 4        "Section  5.  The  following named amounts, or so much of
 5    those  amounts  as  may  be  necessary,   respectively,   are
 6    appropriated  to the Auditor General to meet the ordinary and
 7    contingent expenses of the Office of the Auditor General,  as
 8    provided in the Illinois State Auditing Act:
 9    For Personal Services:
10    For Regular Positions........................... $  3,292,000
11    For Employee Contribution to Retirement
12      System by Employer............................      132,000
13    For State Contribution to State Employees'
14      Retirement System.............................      323,000
15    For State Contribution to Social Security.......      252,000
16    For Contractual Services........................      569,400
17    For Travel......................................       87,500
18    For Commodities.................................       20,000
19    For Printing....................................       17,100
20    For Equipment...................................       30,000
21    For Electronic Data Processing..................      100,000
22    For Telecommunications..........................       82,000
23    For Operation of Auto Equipment.................        5,000

 1        Total                                          $4,956,900

 2        Section  10.   The sum of $12,262,100, or so much of that
 3    amount as may be necessary, is appropriated  to  the  Auditor
 4    General from the Audit Expenses Fund for audits, studies, and
 5    investigations.

 6        Section  99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect July
 7    1, 1999.".
