 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 590

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 590, by  replacing
 3    the title with the following:

 4        "AN  ACT  regarding  appropriations.";  and  by replacing
 5    everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 6        "Section 5.  The following  named  amounts,  or  so  much
 7    thereof  as  may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated
 8    from the General  Revenue  Fund  to  the  Illinois  Community
 9    College Board for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the
10    Central Office:
11      For Personal Services......................... $    990,300
12      For State Contributions to Social
13       Security, for Medicare.......................       10,800
14      For Employee Retirement Contributions
15       Paid by Employer.............................       14,100
16      For Contractual Services......................      337,400
17      For Travel....................................       48,900
18      For Commodities...............................        7,900
19      For Printing..................................       22,700
20      For Equipment.................................       11,300
21      For Electronic Data Processing................      520,000
22      For Telecommunications........................       37,700

 4        Section  10.   The  following  named  amounts, or so much
 5    thereof as may be necessary, respectively,  are  appropriated
 6    from  the Education Assistance Fund to the Illinois Community
 7    College Board for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the
 8    Central Office:
 9      For Personal Services......................... $     36,300
10      For State Contributions to Social
11       Security, for Medicare.......................          500
12      For Contractual Services......................        4,700
13      For Travel....................................        1,100
14      For Commodities...............................          400
15      For Printing..................................          300
16      For Telecommunications........................          700

18        Section 15.  The sum of $250,000, or so much  thereof  as
19    may  be  necessary,  is appropriated from the General Revenue
20    Fund  to  the  Illinois  Community  College  Board  for   the
21    development of core values and leadership initiatives.

22        Section  20.   The sum of $100,000, or so much thereof as
23    may be necessary and  remains  unexpended  at  the  close  of
24    business  on  June 30, 1998, from an appropriation heretofore
25    made for such purpose in Article 12, Section 55 of Public Act
26    90-10, is reappropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the
27    Illinois Community  College  Board  for  the  development  of
28    statewide occupational skills standards.

29        Section  25.   The sum of $13,000,000, or so much thereof
30    as may  be  necessary,  is  appropriated  from  the  Illinois

 1    Community  College  Board  Contracts  and  Grants Fund to the
 2    Illinois Community College Board to  be  expended  under  the
 3    terms   and  conditions  associated  with  the  moneys  being
 4    received.

 5        Section 30.  The following  named  amounts,  or  so  much
 6    thereof  as  may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated
 7    from the General  Revenue  Fund  to  the  Illinois  Community
 8    College Board for the purposes specified:
 9      For distribution as credit
10       hour grants.................................. $149,148,700
11      For distribution as small
12       college grants...............................    1,920,000
13      For distribution as equalization
14       grants.......................................   62,410,900
15      For distribution as special
16       population grants............................   12,300,000
17      For distribution as workforce

 7        Section  35.   The sum of $25,662,000, or so much thereof
 8    as may be  necessary,  is  appropriated  from  the  Education
 9    Assistance  Fund  to the Illinois Community College Board for
10    distribution as credit hour grants.

11        Section 40.  The sum of $25,000, or so  much  thereof  as
12    may   be   necessary,  is  appropriated  from  the  Education
13    Assistance Fund to the Illinois Community College Board for a
14    grant to the Illinois Occupational  Information  Coordinating
15    Committee.

16        Section  45.   The sum of $175,000, or so much thereof as
17    may be necessary, is appropriated from  the  General  Revenue
18    Fund  to  the  Illinois  Community College Board for awarding
19    scholarships to graduates of the Lincoln's Challenge Program.

20        Section 50.  The sum of $1,500,000, or so much thereof as
21    may be necessary, is appropriated to the  Illinois  Community
22    College  Board  from  the  AFDC  Opportunities  Fund  for the
23    administration of the Opportunities  program  and  grants  to
24    colleges, including reimbursement for costs incurred in prior
25    years.

26        Section  9999.   Effective  date.   This Act takes effect
27    July 1, 1999.".
