1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 536
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 536 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT in relation to the establishment of a county
5 university center."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding
9 Section 5-1125 as follows:
10 (55 ILCS 5/5-1125 new)
11 Sec. 5-1125. Establishment of county university center.
12 Pursuant to a plan approved by the Illinois Board of Higher
13 Education, any county may make appropriations from the county
14 treasury and may transfer moneys to a not-for-profit
15 corporation recognized by the General Assembly pursuant to
16 Section 5 of the Higher Education Cooperation Act. The
17 moneys may be expended by the recognized not-for-profit
18 corporation for the purpose of facilitating the purchase of
19 land and the erection or renovation of buildings for a county
20 university center.".
