1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 257
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 257 on page 1, by
3 replacing lines 26 through 31 with the following:
4 "years of age and not a party to the action."; and
5 on page 2, by replacing lines 1 through 5 with the following:
6 "It is not necessary that service"; and
7 between lines 10 and 11, by inserting the following:
8 "(a-5) Upon motion and in its discretion, the court may
9 appoint as a special process server a private detective
10 agency certified under the Private Detective, Private Alarm,
11 Private Security, and Locksmith Act of 1993. Under the
12 appointment, any employee of the private detective agency who
13 is registered under that Act may serve the process. The
14 motion and the order of appointment must contain the number
15 of the certificate issued to the private detective agency by
16 the Department of Professional Regulation under the Private
17 Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, and Locksmith Act
18 of 1993.".
