1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 78
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 78 as follows:
3 by replacing the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT concerning the cremation of animals."; and
5 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
6 following:
7 "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
8 Cremation of Animals Act.
9 Section 5. Cremation options.
10 (a) Any person, company, or business engaged in animal
11 cremation shall provide a form on which an individual who
12 wishes to have an animal cremated shall indicate in writing
13 whether he or she wants to have a mass cremation or a private
14 cremation of his or her pet. The form shall indicate clearly
15 the price of the cremation depending upon which option the
16 customer purchases.
17 (b) Upon completion of the cremation, the person,
18 company, or business shall certify in writing to the pet
19 owner whether the cremation was completed in a mass cremation
20 or a private cremation.
21 (c) Violation of this Section is a business offense with

1 a fine of more than $1,000 but not more than $1,500.".
