1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to recognize milestones in the history
4 of organizations of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The People's Music School will celebrate its
6 25th anniversary with a Gala Celebration benefit at Symphony
7 Center on February 16, 2001; and
8 WHEREAS, The People's Music School is a non-for-profit
9 organization and the only tuition free music school in the
10 country that provides music education for personal and
11 professional growth and cultivates an informed and
12 appreciative audience; and
13 WHEREAS, The People's Music School's programs are open to
14 all, especially those who have little opportunity for music
15 instruction; and
16 WHEREAS, The People's Music School has provided free
17 music lessons to economically disadvantaged youths and adults
18 of all nationalities for more than two decades; therefore, be
19 it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we commend the People's Music School for providing free
23 quality music education and we congratulate them on the
24 occasion of its 25th anniversary; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to the People's Music School an an expression of
27 our esteem.
