 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  wish to express their sincere condolences to
 4    the family and friends of Edward  G.  Proctor,  who  recently
 5    passed away; and

 6        WHEREAS,  Edward G. Proctor was raised in the South Shore
 7    neighborhood and graduated from Leo High School in  1947;  he
 8    graduated  first  in  his class from the Law School at Loyola
 9    University in 1953; in 1952 he was named  an  editor  of  the
10    Illinois Bar Journal; and

11        WHEREAS,  He joined Kirkland & Ellis after his graduation
12    from Loyola; in 1978 he founded Reuben & Proctor with Don  H.
13    Reuben;  in  1986  the firm merged with Isham Lincoln & Beale
14    and closed  in  1988;  Mr.  Proctor  then  joined  Hinshaw  &
15    Culbertson;  Mr.  Proctor  served  as an adjunct professor at
16    Loyola University, where he taught commercial law classes; in
17    1989 he received the Medal of Excellence from the University,
18    largely because of the one-on-one guidance that  he  provided
19    to the students; and

20        WHEREAS, Edward G. Proctor at times represented McCormick
21    Place,  the  Chicago Tribune Company, and the Halas family in
22    their bid to put skyboxes in Soldier Field;  in  addition  to
23    his  legal  practice, he served on the board of Schwarz Paper
24    Company, taught religious education classes  at  his  parish,
25    St.  Barnabas,  and  helped  plan fundraisers for financially
26    burdened high schools; and

27        WHEREAS, The passing of Edward G. Proctor will be felt by
28    all  who  knew  him,  especially  his  wife,  Kathleen;   his
29    daughters, Diana Pasquinelli, Laurel Marchesini, and Abigail;
30    his  sons,  Brian,  Edward,  Jr.,  and  John;  and his twelve
31    grandchildren; therefore, be it

 1        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
 2    NINETY-FIRST  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
 3    we mourn the passing of Edward G. Proctor of Olympia  Fields,
 4    Illinois,  and  extend our sympathy to his family and friends
 5    at this time; and be it further

 6        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 7    presented to the family of Edward G. Proctor.
