1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor important events in the
4 State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Joliet
6 Catholic Academy's football team, the Hilltoppers, recently
7 won the State Class 4A Championship; and
8 WHEREAS, On Saturday, November 25, 2000, at Memorial
9 Stadium on the University of Illinois campus, the Hilltoppers
10 ended a perfect 14 wins and zero losses season by defeating
11 Metamora with a 27-14 victory; and
12 WHEREAS, Coach Dan Sharp can be proud of his team and its
13 winning year; Joliet Catholic Academy has now won a
14 State-record nine football titles; and
15 WHEREAS, Through the leadership of Coach Sharp and the
16 hard work and dedication of the young men that make up the
17 Hilltoppers roster, the people of Joliet, and the students,
18 staff, and faculty of Joliet Catholic Academy, can be proud
19 of their State champion Hilltoppers; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate the Hilltoppers of Joliet Catholic Academy on
23 their impressive football season and their Class 4A State
24 Championship; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to Coach Dan Sharp and the members of the
27 Hilltoppers football team.
