1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestone dates in the
4 history of businesses in the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Oswald's Pharmacy will be celebrating its 125th
6 anniversary on December 2, 2000 in Naperville, Illinois; and
7 WHEREAS, Oswald's Pharmacy began in downtown Naperville
8 in 1875 and has been in the Wickel, Oswald, Kester, and
9 Anderson families since 1877; and
10 WHEREAS, Oswald's Pharmacy has been dedicated to serving
11 the citizens of Naperville for 125 years; and
12 WHEREAS, Oswald's Pharmacy provided extended hours to
13 serve the needs of Naperville's farming community; and
14 WHEREAS, Oswald's Pharmacy gave back to the community
15 with gifts to children during the Depression; and
16 WHEREAS, The Oswald Family opened a book store in
17 Naperville when none existed; and
18 WHEREAS, Oswald's Pharmacy has donated prizes and given
19 support to civic organizations in the city; given thousands
20 of hours and thousands of dollars to city projects; and also
21 provided start-up, part-time, and full-time employment to
22 thousands of Naperville citizens; and
23 WHEREAS, Oswald's Pharmacy has dispensed more than three
24 million prescriptions and provided untold amounts of free
25 healthcare advice; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate Oswald's Pharmacy on celebrating its 125th
29 anniversary of service to the citizens of Naperville,

2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the Anderson Family as an expression of our
4 esteem.
