1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestone dates in the
4 history of organizations in the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The Goodwill Charity Club of Chicago Heights,
6 Illinois is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary in the year
7 2000; and
8 WHEREAS, For fifty years the members of the Goodwill
9 Charity Club have banded together to help those who are less
10 fortunate; the services provided by the Goodwill Charity Club
11 include providing medical equipment through the Helping Hand
12 Closet; this equipment includes hospital beds, walkers,
13 wheelchairs, crutches, and hearing aids; and
14 WHEREAS, The Goodwill Charity Club furnished two nurses
15 lounges at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights; they
16 provide volunteers to work with mobile x-ray units; they
17 provide nursing home care; they aid victims of fires; and
18 they make contributions to local, national, and international
19 charities; and
20 WHEREAS, The membership of the Goodwill Charity Club is
21 made up of men and women from various churches in the South
22 Suburban area of Chicago; On November 19, 2000 the men and
23 women of the Goodwill Charity Club will gather for their 50th
24 Annual Benefit Banquet to celebrate their anniversary and
25 ready themselves for the next fifty years; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate the members of the Goodwill Charity Club as
29 they celebrate their fiftieth anniversary; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to the members of the Goodwill Charity Club.
