1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the
4 history of organizations in the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The Park Forest Nurses Club is celebrating its
6 fiftieth anniversary in the year 2000; the group is made up
7 of about 80 members bound by their common profession; and
8 WHEREAS, Katrina Harvey currently serves as the president
9 of the Park Forest Nurses Club; and
10 WHEREAS, The Park Forest Nurses Club sponsors a "loan
11 closet" consisting of medical equipment that residents of
12 Park Forest may borrow as the need arises; in addition, the
13 Club annually awards $2,500 in college scholarships; and
14 WHEREAS, The Park Forest Nurses Club coordinates blood
15 drives, sponsors immunization clinics, conducts vision and
16 hearing screenings, and participates in the Fourth of July
17 parade; and
18 WHEREAS, Members come from the communities of Park
19 Forest, Homewood, Richton Park, Matteson, Beecher, Steger,
20 and Hazel Crest; many of the nurses that have moved out of
21 the State of Illinois continue to keep their memberships with
22 the Club; and
23 WHEREAS, The Park Forest Nurses Club is to be commended
24 for their dedication and service to the community; therefore,
25 be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate the members of the Park Forest Nurses Club on
29 the celebration of fifty years of meeting together; and be it
30 further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the president of the Park Forest Nurses Club.
