1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives
4 of citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Bourbonnais Fire Chief Michael L. Harshbarger
6 will be honored by Kankakee Elks Lodge No. 627 on October 12,
7 2000 with a recognition dinner; and
8 WHEREAS, Michael Harshbarger has been an Elk for more
9 than thirty-five years; he has served as Past Exalted Ruler
10 and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler; he has been an
11 example of the principles of the Elks: Charity, Justice,
12 Brotherly Love, and Fidelity; and
13 WHEREAS, Chief Harshbarger has had a distinguished career
14 as a firefighter and community leader, most notably with his
15 leadership role during the 1998 Amtrak train crash in
16 Bourbonnais; Michael Harshbarger has been a firefighter for
17 thirty-two years and the Bourbonnais Fire Chief for six
18 years; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21 we congratulate Michael Harshbarger for his hard work and
22 dedication to the people of Bourbonnais and the surrounding
23 communities; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to Bourbonnais Fire Chief Michael Harshbarger.
