1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, On August 5, 2000, the Family Organization
3 Concentrating on Unity & Strength (F.O.C.U.S.), will be
4 celebrating the Sixth Annual Family Day Celebration in
5 Chicago, Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, Family Day is an annual event paying tribute to
7 the family and its foundation; Family Day is a way to
8 acknowledge the important role of the family; and
9 WHEREAS, Family Day is a time to thank fathers, mothers,
10 sisters, brothers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and all other
11 family members who have cared for, guided, and provided for
12 others; it is a time to reflect on the symbolism and
13 importance of the family in our lives; therefore, be it
14 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
16 we declare August 5, 2000 to be "Family Day in the State of
17 Illinois"; we thank the Family Organization Concentrating on
18 Unity & Strength for reminding us of the importance of
19 remembering the family; and be it further
20 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21 provided to the Family Organization Concentrating on Unity &
22 Strength.
