1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that the Flossmoor
3 Woman's Club is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year;
4 and
5 WHEREAS, Organized in 1959 as a member of the national
6 General Federation of Woman's Clubs, the group has been
7 involved in various community improvement programs and works
8 to help fund equipment for hospitals, the library, and the
9 paramedics; and
10 WHEREAS, Funds for these charitable works are raised at
11 an October fashion luncheon, a Christmas Boutique-Bake Sale,
12 and a Bridge marathon; and
13 WHEREAS, These organizations are part of the current
14 charities: the Alzeheimer's Association, Aunt Martha's Youth
15 Service Center, the Cancer Support Center, the Children Home
16 & Aids Society, GFWC Projects, H.F. Art Scholarship, Irons
17 Oaks, the Marie Irwin Center, the Music Scholarship, PADS,
18 the Prairie State Academic Scholarship, the South Suburban
19 Family Shelter, the South Suburban Humane Society, and the
20 Village of Flossmoor Paramedics; therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23 we congratulate the Flossmoor Woman's Club on its 40th
24 Anniversary and applaud its dedication and devotion to
25 wonderful causes; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
27 presented to outgoing President Diana Melton and incoming
28 President Jean Miller.
