1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives
4 of Illinois citizens; and
5 WHEREAS, Joan Simcox of Altamont, Illinois, will be
6 retiring as cashier for the Francis Auction Company, where
7 she worked 15 years, as well as retiring from the city of
8 Altamont, where she worked 18 years; she also worked as a
9 part time secretary for the Effingham County's Treasurer's
10 Office; and
11 WHEREAS, Joan Simcox has shared her time as a Cub Scout
12 den mother and den leader; she has worked with the Jr.
13 Women's Club, the Woman's Guild, and as an election judge and
14 a poll watcher; and she is a member of the First United
15 Methodist Church; and
16 WHEREAS, Joan Simcox has been a precinct committeeman and
17 treasurer for 12 years; she has been a coordinator for
18 various elected officials in Effingham County; and she is the
19 secretary and treasurer of the Republican Women's Club, a
20 member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and American
21 Legion, and a patriot leader and trustee in the Eastern Star;
22 and
23 WHEREAS, Joan Simcox will be enjoying her retirement with
24 her husband, Loy; her children, Brad and Brett and Brett's
25 wife, Chris; her sister, Marlene; her brothers, Lyle and
26 Edward; her mother, Nita; and her grandchildren, Ashley,
27 Brittany, Bryce, and Brandon; therefore, be it
28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
30 we congratulate Joan Simcox on her retirement from the
31 Francis Auction Company and the city of Altamont; we offer

1 our best wishes for her future plans; and be it further
2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to Joan Simcox.
