 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  are  pleased  to  honor  milestones  in  the
 4    history of Illinois businesses; and

 5        WHEREAS, The law firm of Churchill, Baumgartner and Quinn
 6    Ltd.  is  celebrating 97 years at the same corner in downtown
 7    Grayslake,  Illinois;  the  firm  has  been  a  part  of  the
 8    Grayslake Area Chamber of Commerce for 50  years,  since  the
 9    founding of the Chamber in the village of Grayslake; and

10        WHEREAS,   Churchill,  Baumgartner  and  Quinn  Ltd.  was
11    founded in 1903 by Rolla Wilson  (R.W.)  Churchill;  in  1939
12    George O. Churchill joined his father in the practice; in the
13    mid-1950s  R.W. Churchill retired, leaving his son to run the
14    family business on his own; in 1960, John Baumgartner  joined
15    his  uncle  in the firm, followed by Robert Churchill in 1973
16    and Bill Churchill in 1977; and

17        WHEREAS,   Robert   Churchill   served   as    a    State
18    Representative from 1983 to 1999; during his tenure he served
19    as  a  House Republican Deputy Leader; was the House Majority
20    Leader during the 89th General Assembly; and presently serves
21    as a member of the Illinois Prisoner Review Board; and

22        WHEREAS, Today, Churchill, Baumgartner and Quinn Ltd. has
23    eight attorneys, and is one of the largest  exclusively  Lake
24    County  law  firms; John W. Quinn, John (Jack) Richtman, Mark
25    T. Hamilton, Michael B. Betar, and Leo J. Delaney also  share
26    the legal duties in the firm founded by R.W. Churchill; and

27        WHEREAS,  The  Churchill family has a long history in the
28    area as well; the father of R.W. Churchill, Oliver Churchill,
29    first came to the area 160 years ago from  Missouri,  at  the
30    end of the Civil War; therefore, be it

31        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE

 1    NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
 2    we  congratulate the firm of Churchill, Baumgartner and Quinn
 3    Ltd. on their 97 years in Grayslake, Illinois, and  the  50th
 4    anniversary   of  their  joining  the  Grayslake  Chamber  of
 5    Commerce; and be it further

 6        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 7    presented to Churchill, Baumgartner and Quinn Ltd.
