1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestones in the
4 lives of citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Charles Joseph Zickus, III, will receive his
6 Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State
7 University in May of 2000; he will practice veterinary
8 medicine at the Outback Animal Hospital in Polk City,
9 Florida, where he and his wife, Candace, will make their
10 home; and
11 WHEREAS, Charles Zickus is the son of Charles Joseph
12 Zickus, Jr. and State Representative Anne Zickus; he is
13 engaged to marry Candace Joy Brooks on May 14, 2000; and
14 WHEREAS, Charles Zickus received his Bachelors of
15 Agriculture, with an emphasis on Animal Health Technology,
16 from Murray State University in 1993; he received his Masters
17 of Agriculture and wrote his Thesis at Murray State
18 University in 1995; and will receive his Doctorate of
19 Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University in May
20 of 2000; and
21 WHEREAS, Charles Zickus was the Chairman of the Honor
22 Court at the Mississippi State University College of
23 Veterinary Medicine in 1998 and 1999; in 1998 he was a member
24 of the Student Senate at Mississippi State University,
25 representing the College of Veterinary Medicine; from 1997 to
26 the present day, he has been active with Remote Area Medicine
27 as a student volunteer; from 1996 to the present day, he has
28 been an active member of Alpha Psi (Veterinary Fraternity);
29 and from 1993 to the present day, he has been a brother to
30 Alpha Gamma Rho (Agriculture Fraternity); and
31 WHEREAS, Charles Zickus likes to fish, ride his

1 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and spend time with his family,
2 friends, and his soon-to-be wife, Candace; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5 we congratulate Charles Joseph Zickus, III, on becoming Dr.
6 Charles Joseph Zickus, III, DVM, MS; and be it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to Dr. Charles Joseph Zickus, III, DVM, MS.
