1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of this House of
3 Representatives that Wayne Township in West Chicago is
4 celebrating the 150th anniversary of its inception; and
5 WHEREAS, Wayne Township was officially established on
6 Tuesday, April 2, 1850; on that date, the first Annual Town
7 Meeting was held at the home of Joseph McMullen; and
8 WHEREAS, From the 1850s to the year 2000, the services
9 offered by the Township would not be possible if it were not
10 for the dedicated employees and volunteers in the Township
11 family; and
12 WHEREAS, Throughout the past 150 years, Wayne Township
13 has seen many changes and through the dedication and
14 commitment of its residents has experienced much growth and
15 modernization and remains a constant source of pride to its
16 citizens; and
17 WHEREAS, Wayne Township is facing the twenty-first
18 century with dreams of blending future growth with the
19 preservation of the past; the residents are proud of its
20 history and its contributions to the culture of the State of
21 Illinois; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24 we congratulate Wayne Township on its 150th anniversary and
25 extend our sincere wishes for future success and growth; and
26 be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to Glenn Auble, Supervisor of Wayne Township.
