1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to acknowledge young people and
4 their accomplishments in the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The Coed Varsity Squad Cheerleaders of Buffalo
6 Grove High School recently won the State competition held in
7 Springfield; they had previously won first place in the MSL
8 competition, the Illinois State University competition, the
9 State regionals, and the Badger Invite held in Madison,
10 Wisconsin, where they scored more points than the college
11 teams; and
12 WHEREAS, The squad traveled to the Americheer Competition
13 at Disney World in March of 2000, and the US Sprint
14 competition at Universal Studios on April 1 and 2, 2000,
15 where they were named overall champions at both meets; and
16 WHEREAS, At the State competition the Junior Varsity
17 squad placed third out of twenty-one, and the Small Varsity
18 squad placed sixth out of nineteen; the Junior Varsity squad
19 placed first at the Morton regional, the Rolling Meadows
20 regional, the MSL, and the Badger Invite; the Small Varsity
21 squad placed first at the MSL and the Rolling Meadows
22 regional; and
23 WHEREAS, The members of the Coed Varsity squad are: Kyle
24 Brandt, Carla Cabasa, Robert Ciepiela, Tom Ciepiela, Adam
25 Cohn, Bryan Dobkin, Chris Frum, Ashley Gozdecki, David
26 Graubart, Kristi Harkensee, Dynesha Henderson, Kevin Hurley,
27 Jackie Jaron, Andrew Kahn, Calvin Kung, Becky Lewis, Mary Ann
28 Schafer, Nicole Schram, John Shalaby, Danielle Smith, Jackie
29 Tomaso, and Kyle Woodmansee; the members of the Small Varsity
30 team are: Colleen Anderson, Jamie Chandler, Marci Ellen,
31 Danielle Hamisha, Melissa Hinterhauser, Brittany Hoskins,
32 Melanie Kannokada, Beth Majewski, Jackie Openbrier, Paola

1 Ramirez, Shannon Ridley, Jackie Schuster, Sarah Thas, and
2 Jennie Tomaso; their coach is Jeff Siegal; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5 we congratulate the hard working and dedicated members of the
6 Buffalo Grove High School Coed Varsity Squad, the Junior
7 Varsity squad, and the Small Varsity squad, on their winning
8 season of competition; and be it further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the Buffalo Grove High School Cheerleaders and
11 their coach, Jeff Siegal.
