1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives are
3 happy to recognize the excellence of young athletes and wish
4 to congratulate the Okawville High School Lady Rockets on
5 winning the Illinois High School Association Class A State
6 Basketball Tournament; and
7 WHEREAS, With a win over Lewistown, 73-49, the team took
8 the State Championship and finished a memorable season with
9 an impressive record of 30-1; and
10 WHEREAS, Coach Kathy Lanter and Assistant Coaches Carrie
11 Stallings and Vicki Loquasto have provided the instruction,
12 support, and inspiration that contributed to the spirit and
13 dedication put forth by this team; and
14 WHEREAS, Coach Lanter has an impressive record of 331-81
15 during her fourteen years at Okawville High School; and
16 WHEREAS, The members of the Lady Rockets are Jenny
17 Heckert, Justine Krueger, Erica Barkau, Erica Geppert, Joan
18 Miller, Katie Hasheider, Kelly Hasheider, Megan Brockmeier,
19 Cheryl Borrenpohl, Lauren Borrenpohl, Natalie Shubert, Jamie
20 Schrader, Kristen Wiedwilt, Kristen Lehde, and Kelsey
21 Klingenberg; the managers are Shana Stricker, Rachel Shubert,
22 and Erica Bergmann; and
23 WHEREAS, The numerous achievements of the Okawville High
24 School Lady Rockets confirm our belief that hard work and
25 dedication are effective when you set goals and strive to
26 achieve them; therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
28 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
29 we congratulate the Okawville High School Lady Rockets on
30 winning the Class A State Championship and on their
31 outstanding season record and that we extend our best wishes

3 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
4 presented to each member of the team and the coaches and
5 managers.
