1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestones in the
4 State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The eighth grade mathematics students at
6 Community Consolidated School District 181, Hinsdale Middle
7 School, realize the importance of mathematics in their lives
8 and education; and
9 WHEREAS, The students have petitioned the Illinois House
10 of Representatives to declare March 14, 2000 (symbolically
11 3.14) Pi Day in the State of Illinois; and
12 WHEREAS, The students want to recognize and celebrate the
13 importance of mathematics and have come up with a clever way
14 for the State of Illinois to see this in a special way;
15 therefore, be it
16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
17 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18 we declare March 14, 2000, to be Pi Day in the State of
19 Illinois; and be it further
20 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21 presented to the mathematics students in Community
22 Consolidated School District 181 and the eighth grade
23 mathematics students at Hinsdale Middle School.
