1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor heroes in the State of
4 Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Jeannie Malone, a teacher at Kell School in
6 Salem, Illinois, can truly be called a hero; when her
7 student, kindergartner Seth Clark, got a piece of candy stuck
8 in his throat, Jeannie Malone came to the rescue, using the
9 Heimlich Maneuver to dislodge the candy and save the young
10 boy's life; and
11 WHEREAS, Jeannie Malone has taught for 28 years; Glen and
12 Lisa Clark, the parents of Seth, are pleased to know that not
13 only is she a quality educator, but now they see her as a
14 lifesaver as well; therefore, be it
15 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17 we congratulate Jeannie Malone on being there for Seth Clark;
18 for her quick response and lifesaving techniques she truly
19 deserves the title of "hero"; and be it further
20 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21 presented to Jeannie Malone, along with our sincere regards.
