1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives
4 of the people of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, George Polletta has served with the Park Forest
6 Fire Department since August 1, 1969; and
7 WHEREAS, George Polletta served as an Emergency Medical
8 Technician for 12 years, where he treated and helped those in
9 need; he was certified at the Firefighter III level and the
10 HazMat Awareness level; and
11 WHEREAS, In addition to his firefighting duties, George
12 Polletta served as the Park Forest Fire Department mechanic
13 for 20 years, repairing and maintaining the department's
14 equipment; and
15 WHEREAS, George Polletta has served as Union President
16 and as a member of the firefighter negotiating team; he has
17 also served as an officer of the Park Forest Municipal Credit
18 Union Board; and
19 WHEREAS, George Polletta retired on December 30, 1999; he
20 will now enjoy his free time, riding on his Harley-Davidson
21 motorcycle, relaxing on his boat on the river, and helping
22 others repair whatever needs to be fixed; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
25 we congratulate George Polletta on a job well done; we thank
26 him for his many years of service to the Village of Park
27 Forest and for taking the time to help those in need; and be
28 it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to George Polletta.
