 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, Dr. Sherry Luck served as the  Medical  Director
 3    for Roseland Community Hospital's HIV/AIDS Clinic in Chicago,
 4    Illinois; and

 5        WHEREAS,  As a result of Dr. Luck's vision and commitment
 6    to help eradicate the deadly AIDS disease the doors opened at
 7    the Roseland Community Hospital HIV/AIDS Clinic in 1994; and

 8        WHEREAS, Dr. Luck volunteered her services and maintained
 9    the operation of the Clinic during its infancy stage; because
10    Roseland is a small  community  hospital,  Dr.  Luck  had  to
11    provide  funds  for  the  clinic  to  provide services to the
12    community; and

13        WHEREAS, Dr.  Sherry  Luck  and  her  extraordinary  work
14    served  as  an inspiration to the administration, physicians,
15    and staff of Roseland Community Hospital, who served  in  her
16    commitment to "End the Silence"; and

17        WHEREAS,  The  unexpected  passing of Dr. Luck on May 30,
18    1999 was a  tremendous  loss  to  all  of  her  friends,  her
19    co-workers,  and especially her family and the community; she
20    is survived by  her  son,  Vernon  Cowell  Jarrett,  and  her
21    daughter, Khadija Holman; therefore, be it

22        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
23    NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
24    we  extend  our sincere condolences to everyone that knew and
25    loved Dr. Sherry Luck; may they find comfort in this time  of
26    loss; and be it further

27        RESOLVED,  That  suitable  copies  of  this resolution be
28    presented to the Roseland Community Hospital HIV/AIDS  Clinic
29    and to the family of Dr. Sherry Luck.
