1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that the members of
3 this Body welcome the opportunity to recognize citizens of
4 this State who make outstanding contributions to society; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Lucia S. Dunn
6 has announced her retirement as a Science Librarian with the
7 New Trier High School after twenty-nine years of dedicated
8 service as a teacher; and
9 WHEREAS, Lucia Dunn earned her bachelor's degree from
10 Northwestern University and her master's degree in education
11 from Chicago State University; she studied further at Loyola
12 University, Northwestern University, and the University of
13 Illinois at Chicago; and
14 WHEREAS, Her wise counsel and advice was a great
15 influence on her students, and she soon earned the respect
16 and affection of students, teachers, principals, and staff;
17 and
18 WHEREAS, Lucia S. Dunn has contributed in many ways to
19 the New Trier Township High School and its students;
20 therefore be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23 we congratulate Lucia S. Dunn for twenty-nine years of
24 outstanding service in education, that we commend her for her
25 dedication to her profession and to her students, and that we
26 extend to her our sincere best wishes for the future; and be
27 it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to her as an expression of our respect and esteem.
