1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Reverend Michael Eaddy has been the husband of
3 Christine Rose Eaddy for 25 years, the father of 4 children,
4 and for 20 years, the Pastor of the People's "Church of the
5 Harvest" Church of God in Christ in Chicago; and
6 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
7 highest plateaus when a couple such as this celebrate their
8 twenty-fifth wedding anniversary; and
9 WHEREAS, They stand as examples of the best of our
10 society, and their love and devotion to each other and to
11 their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that hard
12 work, dedication, and love can make a difference in today's
13 world; and
14 WHEREAS, Reverend Eaddy assumed the pastoral mantle of
15 the People's Church in 1979; during his tenure, he has proven
16 to be a person of integrity, an astute and innovative
17 thinker, leader, and people builder as well as a Bible
18 Teacher and Preacher; and
19 WHEREAS, Reverend Eaddy organized a male mentorship
20 program and operated it in the Chicago Public School System,
21 assisted in forming the volunteer chaplaincy program at Mt.
22 Sinai, constructed a $1.3 million church and community center
23 in Chicago, and has initiated several local church programs;
24 and
25 WHEREAS, He is affiliated with several organizations,
26 including the West Side Ministers Alliance Prayer Vigil, the
27 National Pastors and Elders Council Church of God in Christ,
28 the Scholastic Motivation Ministries Church of God in Christ,
29 the Vice President of Congress of National Black Churches,
30 and Executive Secretary of First Jurisdiction of Illinois of
31 the Church of God in Christ; and

1 WHEREAS, Reverend Eaddy and his wife have positively
2 touched the lives of many; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5 we congratulate Reverend and Mrs. Michael Eaddy on their
6 twenty-fifth wedding anniversary and take great pleasure in
7 congratulating Reverend Eaddy on twenty years as pastor of
8 the Church; and be it further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to them as a token of our respect and esteem.
