1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this House are proud and honored
3 to recognize individuals who have made significant
4 contributions to their community and the State of Illinois;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, Thomas M. Begel dedicates himself to the YMCA
7 mission, tirelessly spreading word of the YMCA's programs and
8 services to community, corporate, and civic leaders; and
9 WHEREAS, He served as a Young Men's Christian Association
10 of Metropolitan Chicago board member since 1998 and as the
11 1999 YMCA Annual Campaign Chairman; he has dedicated time,
12 resources, and staff to the effort, raising more funds for
13 the annual campaign than any year prior; and
14 WHEREAS, He worked to raise funds from foundations,
15 corporations, and individuals, and personally donated
16 significant funds to the 1999 YMCA Annual Campaign; and
17 WHEREAS, His heartfelt dedication of time and energy has
18 benefited countless Chicago residents through this and other
19 philanthropic organizations throughout the City; therefore,
20 be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23 we commend Thomas M. Begel for his commitment and leadership
24 for the YMCA's movement and his impact on the people of
25 Chicago; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to him as a token of our esteem.
