1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that the members of
3 this Body welcome the opportunity to recognize citizens of
4 this State who make outstanding contributions to society; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Karen E. Royer
6 has announced her retirement as a teacher with Mundelein High
7 School District 120 after twenty-four years of dedicated
8 service as a teacher, nine of which were with District 120;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, Karen Royer received a bachelor's degree cum
11 laude in secondary education from the University of Wisconsin
12 and a master's degree in educational curriculum and
13 instruction from National Louis University in Evanston; and
14 WHEREAS, Karen Royer and her husband Greg have three
15 children; and
16 WHEREAS, A published author, she was the recipient of the
17 Illinois State Board of Education "Those Who Excel" Award of
18 Merit in 1997; and
19 WHEREAS, Her wise counsel and advice was a great
20 influence on her students, and she soon earned the respect
21 and affection of students, teachers, principals, and staff;
22 and
23 WHEREAS, Karen E. Royer, a loving and guiding teacher,
24 has contributed in many ways to the Mundelein High School
25 District 120 and its students; therefore be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate Karen E. Royer for twenty-four years of
29 outstanding service in teaching, that we commend her for her
30 dedication to her profession and to her students, and that we

1 extend to her our sincere best wishes for the future; and be
2 it further
3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to her as an expression of our respect and esteem.
