1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Rich Township on its
4 participation in development of the Rich Township Unity
5 Coalition and the first annual Rich Township Unity Day
6 Celebration; and
7 WHEREAS, One of the centerpieces of the September 26,
8 1999, Rich Township Unity Day Celebration will be the Ring
9 Around Rich ceremony as residents of all Rich Township
10 municipalities join in a hand holding ceremony at a
11 designated time to form a human Unity Ring Around Rich
12 Township; and
13 WHEREAS, The mission of the Rich Township Unity Coalition
14 is to create forms of communication and action to celebrate
15 the cultural diversity and racial richness of Rich Township
16 and to positively influence local, metropolitan, and national
17 perceptions of our communities; and
18 WHEREAS, Rich Township Unity Day and the Ring Around Rich
19 ceremony are positive regional efforts that demonstrate the
20 township's diversity, its quality of life, and the strength
21 of its communities; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24 we congratulate Rich Township on Rich Township Unity Day to
25 be held September 26, 1999; may they become an example to
26 other people and communities through their Ring Around Rich
27 ceremony; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the Rich Township Board.
