 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The Lord is good, and a stronghold in the day of
 3    trouble, and He knoweth them that trust in Him; and

 4        WHEREAS, Madelyn Howard, born on October 16, 1952, passed
 5    away on March 26, 1999;  she  is  survived  by  her  husband,
 6    Gregory   Howard,  and  her  daughters,  LaTrina  Hunter  and
 7    ShaVonna Triplett; and

 8        WHEREAS, We, her devoted friends, extend to the family of
 9    Madelyn our heartfelt sympathy and commend you to the  Divine
10    Comforter  who  is able to sustain, encourage, and strengthen
11    all who call upon Him; and

12        WHEREAS, Madelyn has moved on up a little higher;  it  is
13    the  will  of  God,  and  yet  there  is a bond that has been
14    broken, which leaves  your  heart  in  pain;  you  must  find
15    comfort  in  the words of Jesus, who said: "Cast your burdens
16    on Him, for he cares for you."; and that you will weep not as
17    those who have no hope, for if we believe that Jesus died and
18    rose, even them that sleep in Jesus will God  bring  with  us
19    again; therefore, be it

20        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
21    NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
22    God  knows  that there will be sorrow so he gives us tears to
23    cry, he knows there will be trails so He takes us through  in
24    order  to bring us out; But He is our Heavenly Father, and He
25    will take us by the hand and lead us through the sorrows that
26    we cannot understand; and be it further

27        RESOLVED, That:
28    God has all the time you need.
29    He feels the pain you feel,
30    and above all He knows a heart takes time to heal;
31    and be it further

 1        RESOLVED, To Greg, LaTrina, ShaVonna, and family members,
 2    be encouraged even through your darker days, God has promised
 3    a brighter day ahead; keep on fighting, keep on praying, keep
 4    trusting, and keep believing; and be it further

 5        RESOLVED, May the Lord continue to watch over you is  our
 6    prayer,  and  make God your hope as you look to the hills for
 7    strength and courage; and be it further

 8        RESOLVED, That this be submitted this 31st day of  March,
 9    1999  by:  State Representative Mary Flowers, Brenda Douglas,
10    Loretha Holmes, Brenda Price, and Classmates of 1970.
