1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, H.R. 8, the Death Tax Elimination Act, was
3 introduced in the House of Representatives of the 106th
4 Congress; and
5 WHEREAS, H.R. 8 will amend the Internal Revenue Code of
6 1986 to phase out estate and gift taxes over a 10-year
7 period; and
8 WHEREAS, The elimination of federal estate and gift taxes
9 will result in tax savings to the citizens of this State;
10 therefore, be it
11 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13 we encourage the United States Congress to pass H.R. 8; and
14 be it further
15 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
16 delivered to the President pro tempore of the United States
17 Senate, the Speaker of the United States House of
18 Representatives, and each member of the Illinois
19 congressional delegation.
