1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police
3 conferred upon George P. Dulzo on January 25, 1999 the
4 designation of Certified Police Chief; and
5 WHEREAS, Chief Dulzo was awarded the very first
6 credentials of designation as a "Certified" Police Chief in
7 the history of the State of Illinois; and
8 WHEREAS, Chief Dulzo, Police Chief of the Hickory Hills
9 Police Department, received this certification for
10 demonstrating a high level of competence and fitness by
11 successfully completing a written and oral examination;
12 documenting professional, educational, and community service
13 achievements; and fulfilling prescribed standards of
14 performance and conduct required for certification in the
15 areas of leadership, management, public relations, and ethics
16 as set forth by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police;
17 and
18 WHEREAS, Chief Dulzo has been a life-long resident of
19 Hickory Hills; he is married to Kathy and they have two grown
20 sons, Kevin and Patrick; and
21 WHEREAS, He became a Patrol Officer in the Hickory Hills
22 Police Department in 1970, was promoted to Sergeant in 1972,
23 to Lieutenant in 1988, and became Chief in 1990; and
24 WHEREAS, He received his Bachelor's Degree, summa cum
25 laude, and his Master's Degree in Business Administration
26 from Lewis University in Romeoville; he is presently an
27 adjunct professor at Lewis University and an adjunct faculty
28 member at Northwestern University Traffic Institute of Police
29 and Staff and Command; and
30 WHEREAS, He is affiliated with many volunteer
31 organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America, Hickory

1 Hills Chamber of Commerce, Hickory Hills Lions Club, and
2 Saint Patricia's Holy Name Society; and
3 WHEREAS, This award brings great honor to Chief George P.
4 Dulzo, who has the respect and admiration of all who serve
5 under him; therefore, be it
6 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8 we congratulate Chief George P. Dulzo on being honored by the
9 Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and extend to him
10 our best wishes for the future; and be it further
11 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to Chief George P. Dulzo.
