1 AN ACT concerning fire protection districts.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Fire Protection District Act is amended
5 by adding Section 25.2 as follows:
6 (70 ILCS 705/25.2 new)
7 Sec. 25.2. Regulation of fire hydrants. The board of
8 trustees of any fire protection district incorporated under
9 this Act may, by ordinance, regulate fire hydrants installed
10 on private property within the jurisdiction of the fire
11 protection district. The regulations may include, but are
12 not limited to, requiring that private hydrants be installed
13 and maintained in accordance with the Fire Hydrant Act and
14 establishing maintenance and testing requirements for
15 hydrants on private property in order that adequate water
16 pressure and volume will be available for fire suppression
17 purposes.
