91_HB2790enr HB2790 Enrolled LRB9104115LDpk 1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Civil Administrative Code by 2 adding Section 55.58a. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Illinois Civil Administrative Code is 6 amended by adding Section 55.58a as follows: 7 (20 ILCS 2310/55.58a new) 8 Sec. 55.58a. Study; nurse assistant incentive program. 9 The Department, in cooperation with the Illinois Health Care 10 Association, Life Services Network of Illinois, the Illinois 11 Council on Long Term Care, the County Nursing Home 12 Association, organized labor, the Illinois Community College 13 Board, the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale 14 Department of Workforce Education, the Illinois State Board 15 of Education, and the Department on Aging Ombudsman Program, 16 shall undertake a study to determine what incentives might be 17 necessary to attract and retain nurse assistants to work in 18 Illinois long-term care facilities. Based on any available 19 research and the experience of other states and the private 20 sector, a variety of incentive programs shall be examined for 21 their feasibility and possible development and implementation 22 in Illinois. Based upon the results of the study, the 23 Department shall implement a nurse assistant incentive 24 program no later than January 1, 2001, subject to available 25 appropriations. 26 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 27 becoming law.
