91_HB2596eng HB2596 Engrossed LRB9105500DHmg 1 AN ACT to amend the Displaced Homemakers Assistance Act 2 by changing Section 3. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Displaced Homemakers Assistance Act is 6 amended by changing Section 3 as follows: 7 (20 ILCS 615/3) (from Ch. 23, par. 3453) 8 Sec. 3. As used in this Act, unless the context clearly 9 indicates otherwise: 10 (a) "Displaced homemaker" means a person who (1) has 11 worked in the home for a substantial number of years 12 providing unpaid household services for family members, or is 13 a single parent, is preparing for non-traditional training 14 and employment; (2) is not gainfully employed; (3) has 15 difficulty in securing employment; and (4) was dependent on 16 the income of another family member but is no longer 17 supported by such income, or was dependent on federal 18 assistance but is no longer eligible for such assistance. 19 (b) "Director" means the Director of Commerce and 20 Community Affairs or its successor agency. 21 (Source: P.A. 81-1509.)
