1 AN ACT to amend the Higher Education Student Assistance
2 Act by adding Section 39.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Higher Education Student Assistance Act
6 is amended by adding Section 39 as follows:
7 (110 ILCS 947/39 new)
8 Sec. 39. Part-time student assistance pilot project.
9 The Commission, in conjunction with the Department of Human
10 Services, shall operate a pilot project to provide financial
11 assistance to economically-needy students who are taking
12 fewer than 6 college credit hours per term but are working
13 full time and raising a family at the same time.
