1 AN ACT to amend the Unified Code of Corrections by
2 changing Section 3-14-3.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
6 changing Section 3-14-3 as follows:
7 (730 ILCS 5/3-14-3) (from Ch. 38, par. 1003-14-3)
8 Sec. 3-14-3. Parole Services. To assist parolees or
9 releasees, the Department shall provide employment counseling
10 and job placement services, and may in addition to other
11 services provide the following:
12 (1) assistance in residential placement;
13 (2) family and individual counseling and treatment
14 placement;
15 (3) financial counseling;
16 (4) vocational and educational counseling and placement;
17 and
18 (5) referral services to any other State or local
19 agencies. The Department may purchase necessary services for
20 a parolee or releasee if they are otherwise unavailable and
21 the parolee or releasee is unable to pay for them. It may
22 assess all or part of the costs of such services to a parolee
23 or releasee in accordance with his ability to pay for them;.
24 (6) after-care services and support for women to help
25 them make the transition to healthy parenting and crime-free
26 occupations.
