                                                  BOB-DMA2000

 1        AN ACT making appropriations.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 1.  The following named sums, or so much  thereof
 5    as  may  be  necessary,  respectively,  for  the  objects and
 6    purposes hereinafter named,  are  appropriated  to  meet  the
 7    ordinary   and  contingent  expenses  of  the  Department  of
 8    Military Affairs:

16        Section 2.  The sum of $3,500,000, or so much thereof  as
17    may  be  necessary,  is appropriated from the Federal Support
18    Agreement  Revolving  Fund  to  the  Department  of  Military
19    Affairs  for  expenses  related  to   Army   National   Guard
20    Facilities  operations and maintenance as provided for in the
21    Cooperative Funding  Agreements,  including  costs  in  prior
22    years.

23        Section  3.  The  sum  of $275,000, or so much thereof as
24    may be necessary, is appropriated from  the  Federal  Support
25    Agreement  Revolving  Fund  to  the  Department  of  Military
26    Affairs  for expenses related to the Bartonville and Kankakee
27    armories for operations  and  maintenance  according  to  the
28    Joint-Use Agreement.

29        Section 4.  The sum of $48,500, or so much thereof as may
30    be  necessary,  is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund
31    to the Department of Military Affairs for rehabilitation  and

 1    minor construction at armories and camps.

 2        Section 5.  The sum of $16,500, or so much thereof as may
 3    be  necessary,  is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund
 4    to the Department of Military  Affairs for  expenses  related
 5    to the care and preservation of historic artifacts.

 6        Section  6.  The sum of $1,500,000, or so much thereof as
 7    may be necessary, is appropriated from the  Military  Affairs
 8    Trust  Fund  to the Department of Military Affairs to support
 9    youth and other programs, provided  such  amounts  shall  not
10    exceed  funds  to  be  made  available from public or private
11    sources.

12        Section 7.  The sum of $43,400, or so much of that sum as
13    may be necessary and  remains  unexpended  at  the  close  of
14    business  on  June  30, 1999 from reappropriations heretofore
15    made in Article 42, Section  9  of  Public  Act  90-0585,  is
16    reappropriated   from  the  Illinois  National  Guard  Armory
17    Construction Fund to the Department of  Military  Affairs  to
18    provide  the  State's  share  in  the costs of planning a new
19    armory in Danville.

20        Section 8.  The sum of $262,400, or so  much  thereof  as
21    may  be  necessary,  and  remains  unexpended at the close of
22    business on June 30, 1999 from appropriations heretofore made
23    in  Article  42,  Section  10  of  Public  Act  90-0585,   is
24    reappropriated   from  the  Illinois  National  Guard  Armory
25    Construction Fund for land acquisition  and  construction  of
26    parking facilities at armories.

27        Section   9.  No   contract  shall  be  entered  into  or
28    obligation  incurred  for  any  expenditures  made  from   an
29    appropriation  herein made in Sections 4, 7 and 8 until after

 1    the purpose and amounts have been approved in writing by  the
 2    Governor.

 3        Section  99.   Effective  date.  This Act takes effect on
 4    July 1, 1999.
