91_HB2272enr HB2272 Enrolled LRB9102129ACtm 1 AN ACT to amend the Good Samaritan Act by adding Section 2 46. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Good Samaritan Act is amended by adding 6 Section 46 as follows: 7 (745 ILCS 49/46 new) 8 Sec. 46. Physician assistant; exemption from civil 9 liability for emergency care. A person licensed as a 10 physician assistant under the Physician Assistant Practice 11 Act of 1987 who in good faith provides emergency care without 12 fee to a person shall not be liable for civil damages as a 13 result of his or her acts or omissions, except for willful or 14 wanton misconduct on the part of the person in providing the 15 care. 16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 17 becoming law.
