AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1747 on page 1 by
replacing lines 16 through 18 with the following:
       "(a) After December 31, 2000, a person providing

approved Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS) protocol for
the evaluation, response coding, and telephone help provided

addition, the MPDS approved by the system medical director,
including its questions, care instructions, and coding
protocols, shall be used intact. However, the various mobile
responses assigned to each clinical dispatch code shall be
decided locally by dispatch agencies with written approval of
the system medical director. Dispatch agencies shall provide
for accurate and appropriate use of the MPDS protocol by
initiating a medical dispatch quality assurance program that
meets standards defined by ASTM 1560-94 (Standard Practice
for Emergency Medical Dispatch Management), contains an
ongoing medical call review process, and is approved by the
system medical director. The medical call review process
shall utilize the minimum scoring standards set by the NAEMD.
