1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Act on the Aging by adding
2 Section 8.07.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by
6 adding Section 8.07 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 105/8.07 new)
8 Sec. 8.07. Senior citizen exercise program. Any entity
9 in this State which receives public funding of any kind and
10 which offers any type of exercise program or exercise
11 equipment to the public is required to offer the program or
12 the equipment at a discounted rate to persons 55 years of age
13 and over.
14 If no entity as described in this Section is located in
15 the local area (as determined by the Department by rule) of a
16 person who is 55 years of age or over, the Department shall,
17 subject to appropriation, offer a subsidy to any other entity
18 in the local area which provides an exercise program or
19 exercise equipment to a person who is 55 years of age or over
20 at a discounted rate.
