1 AN ACT to amend the Private Detective, Private Alarm,
2 Private Security, and Locksmith Act of 1993 by changing
3 Section 85.
4 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
5 represented in the General Assembly:
6 Section 5. The Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private
7 Security, and Locksmith Act of 1993 is amended by changing
8 Section 85 as follows:
9 (225 ILCS 446/85)
10 Sec. 85. Unlawful acts. It is unlawful for a licensee
11 under this Act or any employee of a certified agency:
12 (1) Upon termination of employment by an agency,
13 for whatever reason, to fail to return immediately upon
14 demand or within 72 hours after of termination of
15 employment any firearm issued by the employer and the
16 Firearm Authorization Card issued to the employee by the
17 agency.
18 (2) Upon termination of employment by an agency,
19 for whatever reason, to fail to return immediately upon
20 demand or within 72 hours after of termination of
21 employment any uniform, badge, identification card, or
22 equipment issued to the employee by the agency.
23 (3) To falsify his or her employee statement as
24 defined in this Act.
25 (4) To have a badge, shoulder patch, or any other
26 identification that contains the words "law enforcement".
27 Further, no license holder or employee of a licensed
28 agency shall in any manner imply that the person is an
29 employee or agent of a governmental agency, display a
30 badge or identification card, emblem, or uniform citing
31 the words police, sheriff, highway patrol, trooper, or
