1 AN ACT to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 by
2 changing Section 107-5.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 is
6 amended by changing Section 107-5 as follows:
7 (725 ILCS 5/107-5) (from Ch. 38, par. 107-5)
8 Sec. 107-5. Method of arrest.
9 (a) An arrest is made by an actual restraint of the
10 person or by his or her submission to custody.
11 (b) An arrest may be made on any day and at any time of
12 the day or night.
13 (c) An arrest may be made anywhere within the
14 jurisdiction of this State.
15 (d) All necessary and reasonable force may be used to
16 effect an entry into any building or property or part thereof
17 to make an authorized arrest.
