1 AN ACT to amend the University of Illinois Act by
2 changing Section 7g.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by
6 changing Section 7g as follows:

8 Sec. 7g. Tuition waivers. In addition to any tuition
9 waivers that the Board of Trustees offers that are exempt by
10 statute from any tuition waiver limitation established by the
11 Illinois Board of Higher Education, the Board of Trustees is
12 authorized to waive, for individuals with the requisite
13 athletic, academic, or other abilities, that percentage of
14 its undergraduate tuition that is authorized under the
15 tuition waiver limitation established in regulations
16 promulgated by the Illinois Board of Higher Education. If in
17 any fiscal year the Board of Trustees issues undergraduate
18 tuition waivers to individuals in an aggregate amount
19 exceeding the aggregate tuition waiver amount authorized for
20 that fiscal year under the tuition waiver limitation
21 established by the Illinois Board of Higher Education, the
22 University's budget request for the succeeding fiscal year
23 may be reduced by the Illinois Board of Higher Education by
24 an amount equal to that tuition waiver excess.
