1 AN ACT to amend the Public Community College Act by
2 changing Section 2-2.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended
6 by changing Section 2-2 as follows:
7 (110 ILCS 805/2-2) (from Ch. 122, par. 102-2)
8 Sec. 2-2. Member qualifications. The members of the
9 State Board shall be citizens and residents of the State of
10 Illinois and shall be selected as far as may be practicable
11 on the basis of their knowledge of, or interest and
12 experience in, community colleges. No member of the State
13 Board shall be engaged in education as a profession or hold
14 current membership on a school board or board of trustees of
15 a public or non-public college, university or technical
16 institute or be employed by the State or federal government.
17 This Section does not prohibit the student member of the
18 State Board from being employed by a public community
19 college.
